Cenote Chac Mool

Cavern Diving at Cenote Chac Mool is a Must Do in your holiday list. Located just after Puerto Aventuras entrance, cenote Cha Mool is privately owned and cater for snorkeler, recreational divers and of course cave divers. It is in this cave that divers (cave divers) can enjoy the sight of the largest underwater stalagtite in the world!

There are two entrances to the cavern zone. Actually, if you count 'Little Brother' then you have three entrances to the water!

As you jump in, the first part of the cavern dive is well light by the natural sunlight, creating some fantastic effects underater. Then, following the cavern line and passing through halocline at around 10/14 meters (fresh and sea water layer),divers will arrive into a huge room with lots of formations, such as stalagtites and stalagmites or other 'curtains'. It is possible to surface into an air dome where the roots of trees are visibly reaching out for water!

Is ther any opportunities to snorkel at Cenote Chac Mool?

Of course, Cenote Chac Mool is comprised of three entrances but really, only two are suitable for snorkeling. That is Chac Mool first entrance, usually used for cave training and Cenote Kukulkan, on the nothern part of the park. Both offers a real advenure ot whoever dares the experience!

Can I be filmed underwater at Cenote Chac Mool?

Chac Mool is a real wonder for underwater videogrpahers. It is very different depending on where you start your dive. You could have some great light effects in the Kukulkan cenote and have more the feeling of cave exploration down under at cenote Little Brother. Everything is there to make your cenote DVD a unique souvenir to share with family and friends.
