Scuba Diving with the Mayan Gods

THE Yucatan Peninsula is rich in culture, flora and fauna. With its luxurious tropical forests and underground rivers, called cenotes, it offers visitors a unique insight to the ancient and mysterious Mayan civilisation.

Your first dive will take place on the world's second largest reef. Due to strict conservation polices the reef, in Playa del Carmen, is teeming with life. It is not unusual to find turtles, large green moray eels, barracudas and sting rays joining you on your dive and wanting to be part of the filming action!

Once you are signed up for the Discover Scuba Diving program (DSD), you will first listen to a short classroom presentation, then staight to the training site. As a first time diver, you will be shown the few skills necesary to safely enjoy your real open water dive! In fact this skills section is a perfect representation of what you will do during the dive on the reef here in Playa del Carmen. We want to make sure you feel confident enough before we make our descent into this Silent World.

The DSD program is not a certification but does count towards your Open Water Scuba diver course and can be booked as a private tuition. Drop us an e-mail if you want more information.
